Launch of the Open Innovation Panorama Report in Vietnam
In the morning of August 31, the launching ceremony of the first and comprehensive report on open innovation in Vietnam took place on an online platform.
The Report Release Project "Vietnam Open Innovation Panorama 2021" is implemented by BambuUP Innovation Connection Platform, under the auspices of the National Innovation Support Center (NSSC) under Science and Technology Enterprise and Market Development Department, Ministry of Science and Technology.
According to Ms. Nguyen Huong Quynh - CEO of BambuUp innovation connection platform, currently, more than 95% of businesses and corporations do not have enough information about the startup ecosystem in Vietnam, so the interaction and cooperation is to co-create and co-development in Vietnam still very fragmented.
Therefore, the overview report on open innovation in Vietnam aims at 4 objectives:
- Provide a comprehensive overview in all areas of the startup ecosystem and open innovation;
- Updating and analyzing innovation trends in Vietnam and in the world as well as priority needs of enterprises in the future;
- Assess where the Vietnamese startup ecosystem is compared to the world and where are the next development opportunities;
- A diversified and updated database for businesses, investors, and startups to find potential partners.
According to Mrs. Nhung, the report team will provide a start-up map of prominent economic sectors, including: Retail (Retail), Financial Technology (Fintech), Education Technology (Edtech), Healthcare Technology (Healthtech), Marketing and Sales Technology (Martech & Salestech), Restaurant (Restaurant), Supply Chain (Logistics), Agricultural Technology (Agtech), Insurance Technology ( Insurtech), and etc.
Information of the report has been collected by the project team from sources, such as NSSC Center, Project Office 844 - Ministry of Science and Technology, statistics, desk research. In addition, the team also collects information directly from the registration of startups, expert reviews, and online surveys. In particular, the content of the report is supported by more than 50 experts and 30 members of the Advisory Board.
Mr. Pham Dung Nam, Director of NSSC, expressed his expectation: "The Vietnam Open Innovation Report does not stop at the information level, but through it, creates knowledge bases, promotes mutual development. This is also a component of the National Open Innovation Platform (VOIP), which we are coordinating with partners in the evolving innovation ecosystem, an initiative that gathers resources to promote innovation through a model that addresses the practical needs of businesses, management agencies, and social organizations through innovative solutions."
After the kick-off ceremony, on October 15, there will be a preliminary report with general information on innovation trends and a map of startups by field. By December 25, the report will be completed and released for free with 2 versions in Vietnamese and English
The report is expected to be made on an annual period.
