Promoting cooperation in science, technology and innovation with France
In the days from 7 to 14 July, on the occasion of attending the Opening Ceremony of the International Year of Basic Science for Sustainable Development organized by UNESCO in France, Minister Huynh Thanh Dat had a bilateral meeting with the French Minister of Universities and Research; visited and worked with a number of agencies and organizations in the French national innovation system.

Minister Huynh Thanh Dat witnessed the signing ceremony of the extension of the cooperation agreement between the National Office of Intellectual Property of Vietnam and the UK Intellectual Property Office in the afternoon of July 14, 2022.
Many important contents were actively discussed and agreed, such as: first, negotiating and signing the Agreement on Science and Technology Cooperation between the two Governments in 2023 (the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and France) taking into account the strategic focuses of science, technology and innovation development by 2030 of both Vietnam and France, and at the same time, having a mechanism to ensure the feasibility of cooperation and training projects for university, scientific research with excellent quality, promote cooperation in technology transfer between innovative enterprises of the two countries; secondly, creating more channels of connection and academic exchange between scientists of the two countries through Vietnam's re-engagement with one of France's prestigious scientific programs, Hubert Curien (Lotus flower Program); thirdly, opening a new corridor to promote cooperation and technology transfer between innovative enterprises of the two countries through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Agency for Technology Application and Development (SATI) with BPI France; fourth, connecting the Innovation Valley of France with national high-tech parks, thereby promoting high-tech investment promotion activities between the two countries; Fifth, share about the current situation, potential and some specific methods to make the S&T cooperation between the two countries more substantive in the coming time in a number of new fields, such as space science and technology, green technology and new energy, besides traditional fields, such as biotechnology, health, agriculture.
