Dr. Tran Le Hong – Deputy Director, National Office of Intellectual Property gave the opening speech at the Training Class
Attending the Training Class, there were Dr. Tran Le Hong - Deputy Director, NOIP, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Huy - Rector, Phenikaa University and more than 60 students from universities, research institutes and businesses across the country attended in the face-to-face and online form.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Director Tran Le Hong said that universities and research institutes are the main focus of human resources in science and technology, and many valuable intellectual properties are created by scientists work in this environment.
For many years, universities and research institutes have always had effective policies to encourage scientists to publish articles to publish scientific research results and protect IP rights, but there are not many registered patents and IPR protection titles as well as unexploited, effective commercialization of these research results.
This is a matter of concern from managers as well as scientists themselves because the registration for protection of intellectual property rights needs to be done in accordance with regulations and in a timely manner to ensure the interests of IP rights. Vietnam's legal regulations are constantly being improved to meet the needs of international integration as well as create favorable conditions for scientists.
In addition, state management agencies in charge of IP from central to local levels also carry out many capacity building activities and consult for relevant entities of the IP system. For universities and research institutes, NOIP always accompanies to support scientists, especially in the annual implementation of activities for the TISC Network.
NOIP highly appreciates the participation of members of the TISC Network, who are strong and always accompany the Network's activities, such as Phenikaa University and hope to have more support activities for universities and research institutes.
On the side of Phenikaa University, Prof. Dr. Pham Thanh Huy emphasized, Phenikaa Group and Phenikaa University always consider scientific research and innovation activities as one of the important target tasks in the strategy development of the University and the Group, in which IP activities are the focus.
The implementation of training activities, improving IP capacity to effectively support research and teaching, create a solid premise for creative activities of lecturers, students of the University in the future.
The training course ended with a positive evaluation of the participants. The comments and sharing are recorded by NOIP to have appropriate proposals and solutions to strengthen the activities of the TISC Network as well as the IP activities of universities and research institutes in the coming time.
