Các nhà khoa học đã xác định được mối liên hệ các phân tử có thể ổn định cơ chế kìm hãm ung thư phát triển - mở ra cánh cửa cho sự phát triển các loại thuốc chữa căn bệnh này.

Các nhà khoa học từ Trung tâm Ung thư Rogel của Đại học Michigan và Trung tâm Ung thư Toàn diện Trường hợp đã xác định vị trí gắn kết các hợp chất thuốc có thể kích hoạt cơ chế kìm hãm chống lại sự phát triển của nhiều loại ung thư.

Phát hiện này đánh dấu một bước quan trọng trong việc phát triển một nhóm thuốc chống ung thư mới tiềm năng giúp tăng cường hoạt động của protein ức chế khối u phổ biến.

Nghiên cứu được công bố trên tạp chí Cell.

Các nhà khoa học đã biết từ lâu rằng một số phân tử có khả năng làm tăng hoạt động của protein ức chế khối u PP2A, tiêu diệt tế bào ung thư và thu nhỏ khối u trong các dòng tế bào và mô hình động vật - nhưng không có thông tin về vị trí vật lý nơi các phân tử tương tác với protein, cố gắng tối ưu hóa các đặc tính của chúng để biến chúng thành thuốc, điều này cần có thêm các thử nghiệm.
