Tran Dai Nghia Award for 9 fields of natural science and technology
Scientists who have chaired excellent research works, published in prestigious international scientific journals or been granted domestic and foreign intellectual property diplomas, are the objects of the Tran Dai Nghia Prize in 2022.

On the occasion of the 108th birth anniversary of Professor, Major General Tran Dai Nghia (September 13, 1913 - 2021), the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST) launched the third Tran Dai Nghia Award to honor scientists with excellent application-oriented scientific works.
Specifically, the award is directed to scientists who have completed or are leading excellent research works in 9 fields of natural science and technology (Mathematics; Mechanics; Information Science and Science computers; Physics; Chemistry; Life Sciences; Earth Sciences; Marine Sciences; Environmental and Energy Sciences), published in reputable international scientific journals or granted domestic and foreign patents. On the other hand, the candidate works must be organized and applied in Vietnam by the author of the work, and recognized as having contributed or potentially contributing to bring about great socio-economic and security effects for the country.
The Award review Council consists of 5-7 members, operates on the principle of centralization and democracy, and conducts secret ballots. The prize is awarded to the author with excellent scientific work when the number of votes in favor of 3/4 or more is calculated on the total number of participants.
Along with the announcement of the Award, VAST calls on candidates to introduce candidates or self-nominated candidates to apply for participation from today, August 13, to the end of December 31, 2021. Selection will take place from January to April 2022; The award ceremony is expected to take place in May 2022, with 1-3 prizes, the cash reward for each prize is equivalent to at least 1,000 times of the base salary (about 160 million VND).
Tran Dai Nghia Award is held every 3 years. Through two times held in 2016 and 2019, there were 6 prizes awarded to 14 scientists.
