Digital transformation – the motivation for innovation
According to information from the meeting in the morning of April 27 of the National Committee on Digital Transformation chaired by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, digital economic revenue in the first quarter of 2022 reached about 53 billion USD.

In the morning of April 27, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Chairman of the National Committee for Digital Transformation, chaired the second meeting of the Committee to evaluate the results of the first quarter of 2022 and identify tasks and need to focus on implementing in the second quarter of 2022 and the coming time.

Also attending the meeting at the Government headquarters, there were Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung, Minister - Chairman of the Government Office Tran Van Son, Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien, and Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung, Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son, Minister of Health Nguyen Thanh Long, leaders of ministries, branches and central agencies. The meeting is connected online to the headquarters of ministries, ministerial-level agencies, agencies of the Government, People's Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities.

Speaking at the opening of the Conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh suggested that the delegates focus on assessing the tasks implemented in the past time, the achieved results, the things that have not been done, analyze and specify the causes, especially subjective causes and lessons; set out specific and practical tasks and suitable solutions to the actual situation in order to accelerate the process of national digital transformation in the coming time.

Emphasizing the spirit of "the determination must be high, the effort must be great, do it real, do it fiercely, make it effective, make products", with inheritance, stability, innovation and development, the Prime Minister stated: The document of the 13th Party Congress has identified national digital transformation as a very important task, associated with three main pillars: digital government, digital economy and society. The Party, State, Government and Prime Minister pay special attention to digital transformation, towards digital government, digital economy, digital society and digital citizens. This is also an area of great interest to the people and business community.

The Prime Minister has approved October 10 every year as the National Digital Transformation Day with three main objectives: accelerating the implementation of tasks on national digital transformation; raising awareness of people in the whole society about the role, meaning and benefits of digital transformation; promoting the participation of the whole political system, synchronous action at all levels and the participation of the whole people to ensure the success of digital transformation.

The Prime Minister emphasized that the task of the National Committee on Digital Transformation is very heavy; we must direct and organize the implementation of guidelines, mechanisms and policies to promote the process of national digital transformation, closely linked with administrative reform; building and developing e-Government, digital government, digital economy, digital society and smart city; facilitate the implementation of the 4th Industrial Revolution in Vietnam; associated with the current rapid recovery and sustainable socio-economic development as well as development goals by 2025, 2030 and 2045.

According to a report of the Ministry of Information and Communications - the permanent body of the Commission, the contribution of the digital economy to Vietnam's economy is increasing. According to this Ministry's estimate, the digital economic revenue of the first quarter of 2022 will reach about 53 billion USD. In which, the platform digital economy has a growth rate of 28%, reaching 8 billion USD in revenue, the rest is the ICT digital economy and the industry digital economy, with an average revenue growth rate of about 15%.

According to data from the Ministry of Planning and Investment, the number of newly established digital technology enterprises by the end of February 2022 reached 65,329 enterprises, an increase of 487 enterprises compared to 2021.

Following the announcement of the Prime Minister's conclusions at the first meeting of the Committee, the ministries, branches and localities assigned to deploy 03 tasks with completion deadlines in the first quarter of 2022, have all been completed on time. According to the Commission's Work Plan for 2022, ministries, branches and localities are assigned to implement 14 tasks with completion deadlines in March and April 2022. Because the new Plan was issued on March 15, 2022, these 14 tasks are all in the process of being implemented and are expected to be completed in April 2022.

According to the report, over the past time, awareness of the importance of digital transformation at all levels and sectors, especially leaders and heads has changed markedly, 100% of ministries and branches, the locality has completed the Digital Transformation Steering Committee headed by the head of the Committee. The work of perfecting institutions, mechanisms and policies has received attention from leaders and direction, and has achieved positive results. The Prime Minister has issued 05 Decisions on digital transformation, including approving October 10 every year as National Digital Transformation Day.
