Promulgating a list of products and goods prioritized for traceability in Ho Chi Minh City
Recently, the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City has issued a decision approving the list of products and goods prioritized for traceability in the city.

Consumers in the country and in many places of the world are increasingly demanding on product traceability. Traceability is seen as an important criterion of food product quality and safety.

Traceability is a tool to meet the expectations of buyers and end users to ensure the quality of the product they are using is as expected. Traceability can exclude small-scale agricultural producers that do not meet product quality standards, helping to ensure food safety and hygiene.

In particular, at present, the issue of food safety and traceability of agricultural products is at the forefront of workshops on digital transformation and export of agricultural products. Therefore, traceability of agricultural products plays an important role for the development of the agricultural industry and the export of agricultural products in particular.

Being well aware of the role of traceability for products and goods, the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City recently issued a decision approving the list of products and goods prioritized for traceability implementation in the city.

According to this decision, "The list of products and goods prioritized for traceability implementation in Ho Chi Minh City" includes: Pork, poultry meat, poultry eggs, fresh vegetables, shrimp, semi-processed aquatic products with packaging (perch, snakehead fish, choke fish, dried pineapple fish), bird's nest.

In order to achieve good results, the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City assigned departments and agencies based on the "List of products and goods prioritized for traceability in Ho Chi Minh City" to chair and coordinate with the Department of Science and Technology and relevant departments and agencies to actively develop and deploy guiding documents on the model of implementing traceability under their management; guiding, organizing and implementing support activities and suitable innovation programs to enterprises, production, business and service establishments whose products and goods are prioritized to implement traceability under management.
