Đột phá về trí tuệ nhân tạo trong chăm sóc trẻ sinh non
Các nhà khoa học của Đại học James Cook đã tạo ra một bước đột phá khoa học về việc bảo vệ trẻ sinh non sống sót.

Các nhà nghiên cứu thử nghiệm sử dụng mạng thần kinh nhân tạo để dự đoán chính xác mức độ rủi ro của từng trẻ sinh non.

Các biến chứng do sinh non là nguyên nhân hàng đầu gây tử vong ở trẻ em dưới 5 tuổi và hơn 50% trường hợp tử vong sơ sinh xảy ra ở trẻ sinh non.

Giải pháp thay thế là đánh giá các biến số không thay đổi - chẳng hạn như cân nặng khi sinh - ngăn chặn việc tính toán lại nguy cơ của trẻ sơ sinh trên cơ sở liên tục và không có phản ứng của trẻ với điều trị.

Nghiên cứu được công bố trên tạp chí Máy tính về Sinh học và Y học, đã phát triển Điểm tử vong bằng trí tuệ nhân tạo ở trẻ sơ sinh (NAIMS), một mạng thần kinh kết hợp dựa trên nhân khẩu học đơn giản, nhịp tim và nhịp thở để xác định nguy cơ tử vong.

Kỹ thuật này được thự hiện nhanh mà không cần đến các thủ thuật xâm lấn hoặc hiểu biết về bệnh sử.

NAIMS đã chứng minh độ chính xác khi được kiểm tra dựa trên hồ sơ tử vong tại bệnh viện của trẻ sinh non và có thêm lợi thế so với các chương trình hiện có là có thể thực hiện đánh giá rủi ro dựa trên bất kỳ dữ liệu nào kéo dài 12 giờ trong thời gian bệnh nhân nằm viện.
