Supporting Vietnam's sustainable and inclusive development priorities
On June 14, 2023, in Hanoi, the Australian Government and the World Bank officially approved the continued expansion of the strategic partnership to support Vietnam's sustainable and inclusive development program. The cooperation program between the two parties was started in 2012 and will continue until 2026, worth 95 million Australian dollars.

This strategic partnership program helps support Vietnam by providing information, analysis and technical assistance to design inclusive and sustainable development policies. Over the past 5 years, the Strategic Partnership Program between the Australian Government and the World Bank has impacted more than 58 policies, helping to drive positive regulatory change. These successes have helped The Australian Government and the World Bank have the practice to continue accompanying Vietnam until 2026.
The strategic partnership program will continue to work closely with Vietnam to reflect the needs of the country and its people. The program will continue activities to promote gender equality and sustainable development in the Mekong Delta. In addition, the Program also implements new activities to better respond to the new priorities set out in the 10-year Socio-Economic Development Strategy 2021-2030 and the Socio-Economic Development Plan for the period of 5 years 2021-2025, including the transition to a low-carbon, equitable, socially inclusive economy and innovation-driven growth.
