Vinh Long: Support start-ups and innovation start-ups
As one of the localities with many university and college-level training institutions in the Mekong Delta, Vinh Long has the strength to start a business, especially in innovation. Typically, in 2022 (despite having just experienced the heavy impact of the epidemic), the 5th Vinh Long Province Startup Project and Idea Contest still attracted the attention of the community with 53 competition project registrations (an increase of 24 articles compared to 2021), including 36 ideas and 17 start-up projects.

In addition, the People's Committee of Vinh Long province has coordinated with the Center for Innovation Planning of the National University of Ho Chi Minh City (IEC) to advise on building a model to support the incubation of innovative businesses at the Center for Science and Technology Application under Vinh Long Department of Science and Technology. Vinh Long Department of Science and Technology has cooperated with Center for Application of Science and Technology Advancement (Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology) to organize training courses for leaders, managers of departments/sectors, lecturers of various departments, universities/colleges with many contents such as (1) Training program on foundational knowledge about the innovation startup ecosystem for leaders, managers and officials; (2) The program to improve knowledge on innovation startup for associations and mass organizations; (3) Training program on teaching skills according to STEM methods for teachers; (4) Basic fostering of STEM education programs for pupils (5) Digital transformation and value enhancement, business re-incubation; (6) Knowledge training program on innovation skills for lecturers and experts of universities, colleges, state management agencies.
Vinh Long Department of Science and Technology, with the role of state management in support of the innovation startup ecosystem, will actively advise the Provincial People's Committee and closely coordinate with relevant agencies, units, organizations and individuals in the innovation startup ecosystem to effectively implementsthe above-mentioned orientations. It is hoped that, in the coming time, many innovative startup enterprises, many new and highly effective business models will make positive contributions to the socio-economic development of the locality.
