Da Nang city Food safety management Board said that food safety is one of the four pillars of Da Nang's "4 safe city" program, with the goal of building the city into a safe food destination. However, every day Da Nang has to import a large amount of agricultural products from provinces and cities through wholesale markets and concentrated slaughterhouses before distributing to the retail market. As the food supply chain expands with the diversity of sources, the danger of food insecurity becomes increasingly complex…
In that context, the development of a traceability system brings stability in the quality and safety of food in the supply chain. From the end of October 2021, Da Nang Food Safety Management Board implemented the Electronic Food Traceability Project.
Accordingly, the electronic traceability system allows three parties to participate, including: state agencies with management functions, viewing statistical reports, inspecting and receiving information on food safety loss. Food establishments are able to record information at each link, share information and connect information with each other to form traceability information along the supply chain. Consumers can trace the product origin, evaluate food safety, report food safety loss to the authorities.
