The road to decarbonisation: From energy efficiency to alternative energy sources
The road to decarbonization: From energy efficiency to the framework of the economic cooperation strengthening program between the Governments of Australia and Vietnam, to support organizations and businesses of the two countries to seek cooperation opportunities, technology transfer, on June 30, 2023, the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Association of Vietnamese Intellectuals and Professionals in Australia (VASEA) jointly organized the seminar "Road to decarbonization" : From energy efficiency to alternative energy sources”.
Effective measures, large-scale, applicable to businesses as well as households to save electricity, improve energy efficiency, ensure energy security, reduce production costs, reduce CO2 emissions;
new energy and fuel sources that are sustainable and have no impact on the environment; new policies and management tools to stimulate competition are applied for the first time, applying digital transformation in energy management; Profit sharing business model in energy project investment are solutions, technologies and content introduced and shared at the forum.
Along with in-depth economic and investment cooperation, the two governments agree on cross-border issues, especially sustainable development and combating climate change. The two countries have signed a series of agreements, including a $105 million package to help Vietnam remove carbon from the economy, ensure energy security, and promote trade cooperation at the ministerial level.
Within the framework of cooperation between Vietnam and Australia, the Association of Vietnamese Intellectuals and Professionals in Australia (VASEA) has actively contributed to the cooperation between the two countries in the fields of education, technology transfer, and trade, investment, finance and public policy.
VASEA is an official organization established at the end of 2022 on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Australia and the official visit to Australia of National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue from November 30, 2022. until December 3, 2022.
VASEA represents Vietnamese intellectuals and experts living and working in Australia to enhance meetings, academic exchanges, leadership and management skills, and contribute to promoting educational cooperation, science, trade, investment and contribution to the development of Australia and Vietnam.
The seminar contributed to promoting economic cooperation between the two countries as well as the resonance of the innovation cooperation program between Vietnam and Australia. It is hoped that more universities, such as the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) will cooperate with Vietnamese universities and businesses to establish partnerships on innovation and technology transfer and socio-economic development between the two countries.
