Ho Chi Minh City: Where to establish the country's first concentrated medical and pharmaceutical industrial park?
Le Minh Xuan 2 Industrial Park (Binh Chanh district, Ho Chi Minh City) with an area of 338 hectares will be the first concentrated medical and pharmaceutical industrial park in the country.

In early March, Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee issued Decision No. 657/QD-UBND on approving the Project "Development of pharmaceutical industry in Ho Chi Minh City to 2030, vision to 2045".

Pharmaceutical industry development project of Ho Chi Minh city has planned the first concentrated medical and pharmaceutical industrial park in the country at Le Minh Xuan 2 Industrial Park with an area of 338 hectares (Le Minh Xuan commune, Binh Chanh district).

This is considered a strategic action program to meet the integration requirements of economic and scientific and technical development, while implementing the Party and State's policies on health improvement for the people and strengthen State management in the field of medicine and pharmacy in the City.

This project has two general goals: Focus on transferring technoloies for producing drugs and medical equipment, especially prioritizing the production of high-tech medical equipment, vaccines, biological products, and other new drugs, invented drugs to meet domestic disease prevention and treatment needs, gradually replacing imported drugs, aiming for export with competitive advantages in quality and price and forming and developing specialized medicine and pharmacy industryl parks in Ho Chi Minh city.

According to the Government's program to develop the pharmaceutical industry and domestically produced medicinal materials to 2030, with a vision to 2045, the list of key projects calling for investment includes an industrial park project in the North and 1 Industrial Park project in the South or Central region with the goal of building new industrial park infrastructure to attract FIE investors to transfer technologies for producing patented drugs and generic drugs in high technology dosage forms vaccines, medical biological products, biological drugs of high economic value.

It can be affirmed that the development of specialized medical and pharmaceutical industrial parks is a breakthrough policy of Ho Chi Minh city.

This industrial park will have the main functions as a center for research, development and innovation in the field of medicine and pharmacy; Concentrating establishments producing and trading specialized medical and pharmaceutical products and supporting products in the high-tech segment; Trading center for specialized medical and pharmaceutical products and ancillary products.
