Develop national measurement standards until 2030
Some new points of the implementation plan " Plan for developing national measurement standards until 2030" according to Decision No. 1488/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister are highly feasible, ensuring effectiveness, being carried out rigorously, meeting the strong development of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and serving the goal of sustainable development.
Sharing about the implementation plan "Plan for developing national measurement standards until 2030" according to Decision No. 1488/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister at the workshop "Developing national measurement standards and coordinating to improve the efficiency of measurement activities" has just taken place recently. According to Mr. Tran Quy Giau - Director of the Department of Measurement, the general goal of the first plan is to follow a modern direction, reaching an advanced level in the region; The second is to meet state management requirements on measurement in the new period; Third is to promote international economic integration, support businesses to improve the quality of products to serve the domestic and export markets; Fourth is to contribute to promoting and developing socio-economics and ensuring national defense and security of the country.
Regarding specific goals, period of 2024-2025: Maintain, preserve and use 48 national standards approved under Decision No. 1361/QD-TTg - Invest in new development, supplement 08 national standards, including: 02 measurement standards belong to 02 basic quantities; 06 measurement standards belonging to 05 derived quantities.

Period of 2026-2030: Invest in upgrading and expanding the scope of measurement, raising the level of 09 national standards of 08 approved quantities, including: 01 measurement standard belonging to 01 basic quantity, 08 measurement standards belonging to 07 derived quantities; Investing in new development, adding 36 national measurement standards of 23 quantities, including: 09 measurement standards belonging to 03 basic quantities and 27 measurement standards belonging to 20 derived quantities, and etc.
Tasks to be implemented by ministries and localities: Prepare documents to establish, maintain, preserve and use national hydroacoustic measurement standards registered in the plan to develop national measurement standards to year 2030; submit to the Ministry of Science and Technology for approval of national measurement standards; Arrange investment, establish, maintain and preserve main standards managed by ministries and localities, ensuring standard linkage to national measurement standards; Proactively propose or participate in the Interlaboratory Comparison Program on measurement to improve the capacity of measurement laboratories; Ensure funding from the state budget for the maintenance, preservation and use of measurement standards according to regulations; Organize propaganda, seminars and conferences according to the contents of the Plan.
