Digital transformation contributes to improving national competitiveness
Implementing Document No. 2151/UBND-KT of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee on approving the activity plan 2024, practically celebrating Vietnam Science and Technology Day, in the morning of May 17, Ho Chi Minh City Science and Technology Union of Associations organized a workshop: "Promoting digital transformation to connect Science - Industry and innovation."

In his opening speech, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Phuoc - Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City Union of Science and Technology Associations - assessed that in the context of the 4th industrial revolution in the world, the Creative, core breakthrough technologies, such as the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI), big data, block chain technology, semiconductor microchips, and etc. are also gradually creating wide-ranging changes, eliminating the advantages of traditional production methods and business models.
Accordingly, the combination of Science - Industry and Innovation has created a dynamic development environment, promoting the application of new discoveries and knowledge from scientific research into production and services, promoting the sharing of knowledge and technologies, enhancing competition, as well as promoting sustainable development, is the "key" to developing a knowledge economy and green transformation.
Currently, digital transformation activities are taking place strongly, widely and are an inevitable trend. Resolution No. 52-NQ/TW dated September 27, 2019 of the Politburo on a number of guidelines and policies to proactively participate in the 4th Industrial Revolution determines: "Promoting national digital transformation, the focus is on developing the digital economy, building smart cities, e-government, moving towards digital government, and etc."
Reporting on the CDU program of Ho Chi Minh City, Mr. Nguyen Minh Huan - Head of the Financial Planning Department, Ho Chi Minh City Department of Information and Communications said that the City's leaders always pay attention, closely direct and promulgate many important mechanisms and policies. Every year, the budget is allocated to build and maintain the City's information technology (IT) applications.
In addition, technical infrastructure and shared digital platforms are the basis to help promote and develop sustainably, connecting effective solutions and applications in digital government, digital economy, and digital society according to the goals set out in the Digital Transformation Program and Ho Chi Minh City Construction Project, and etc.
