An Giang: Strengthen inspection and application of food quality management technology
In recent years, An Giang Department of Standards, Metrology and Quality has conducted inspections and discovered that many food production and business establishments have not met regulations on standards, quality, and labels of goods and codes, barcodes.

From 2021 so far, An Giang Department of Standards, Metrology and Quality has conducted surveys on food goods at 193 establishments (tea, coffee, vegetarian food, bottled water, wine, dried fishes, re-packaged rice, dipping sauce, and etc.) took 143 testing samples, discovered 91 establishments violating product labels, 55 establishments violating quality standards. Thence, promptly inform and warn food safety management agencies to have appropriate management solutions.
Director of An Giang Department of Standards, Metrology and Quality, Hua Hoang Thao, said that from 2020 - 2024, the Department will preside and coordinate with relevant agencies to organize more than 20 conferences to propagate and train legal regulations in the fields of standards, measurement and quality for officials, civil servants and food production and business establishments.
At the conferences, many contents are provided around: Regulations on building and announcing basic standards, announcing applicable standards; regulations on goods quality in production and circulation in the market; regulations on handling administrative violations in the fields of standards, measurement, quality, product labels, codes, and barcodes. At the same time, provide guidance on regulations on labeling of goods and registration and use of product codes and barcodes.
