Establish University of Health Sciences
On June 3, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha signed Decision No. 472/QD-TTg to establish the University of Health Sciences.

According to the Decision, the University of Health Sciences is a member university of Ho Chi Minh City National University, formerly the Faculty of Medicine under Ho Chi Minh City National University. The school is a public higher education institution, headquartered in Binh Duong province, with its own legal status, seal and account.
Faculty of Medicine - Ho Chi Minh City National University was established in 2009, oriented to be an advanced, high-quality training unit based on the school-hospital model, combining training with scientific research and providing health care services.
Currently, the Faculty of Medicine is training students in five majors: Medicine, Pharmacy, Dentistry, Traditional Medicine and Nursing. So far, the Faculty of Medicine has had eight medical doctor graduation courses, and three pharmacist graduation courses with more than 1,000 doctors and pharmacists.
Starting from 2023, the Faculty of Medicine officially enrolls students and provides postgraduate training with nine majors, including: Resident doctors in four majors (Surgery, Obstetrics, Pediatrics, Ear, Nose and Throat), and level I specialists with five specialties (Internal Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics, Pediatrics, Ear, Nose and Throat).
The University of Health Sciences will be one of the key health training facilities in the Southern region, in the current situation of human resource shortage for the health sector.
The development roadmap for the University of Health Sciences of the Faculty of Medicine includes two phases:
- Period 2023 - 2027: complete the model; perfecting a safe, friendly, and advanced environment in training and research.
