Support businesses to solve technology problems
The Vietnam-Korea Institute of Science and Technology (VKIST) has proposed a model of “one researcher per enterprise” to support enterprises in solving technological problems and improving competitiveness, especially in the field of microchips and semiconductors.

Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Bui The Duy said that the Ministry will coordinate with ministries and branches to build and invest in this industry to ensure sustainable development, while promoting the model of science and technology organization according to international practices, with VKIST as a typical model.
In 2024, VKIST carried out 35 research tasks with a total budget of tens of billions of VND, achieving many remarkable results, such as a patent in Korea and 16 technologies prepared for transfer, of which 8 technologies have been received and put into production by enterprises. The Institute also signed cooperation agreements with 7 domestic and international enterprises and scientific organizations, and carried out 10 international cooperation projects on electronics, biotechnology, energy and science policy, of which 9 projects with the Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) were successful.
Vice President of VKIST Council, Dr. Nguyen Quan, emphasized the need to review and revise related mechanisms, such as ownership of research results, technology transfer and finance for scientific activities. Completing these policies will not only help VKIST operate more effectively but also create a premise for replicating the model to other scientific organizations, improving the research and innovation capacity of the entire system.
