On the occasion of Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day (April 21), the Center for Scientific Data and Information collaborated with the Youth Union of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology organized a seminar on “Artificial Intelligence - Opportunities and Challenges” to promote reading and research culture, and celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Institute (1975-2025). In her opening speech, Ms. Nguyen Thi Van Nga emphasized that books are changing more strongly in the way they are expressed and approached, contributing to nurturing the spirit of lifelong learning, inspiring creativity and research in the community, especially among young people.
The program also included a panel discussion with keynote speaker Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Phi Le, lecturer at Hanoi University of Science and Technology, sharing about the role, applications and development trends of artificial intelligence in the digital age. He emphasized that AI has changed the way people process information, significantly reducing working time, and at the same time, it is necessary to invest in people, infrastructure and data to develop this field. In the context of Vietnam, the Prime Minister has issued an AI development strategy until 2030, aiming to build a big data platform and improve research and application of artificial intelligence, helping to turn this field into a national technology pillar.
Also at the event, from April 22 to May 21, 2025, the Book Exhibition at the Academy Library will display more than 1,000 diverse books from prestigious publishers and organizations, including monographs, textbooks, and reference materials. In particular, the activity of donating books to students and young researchers aims to encourage the spirit of learning, creativity, and knowledge discovery in the research community and young people. This is an opportunity to combine learning and exchange, while promoting the culture of reading, research, and innovation in the 4.0 era.
