Ho Chi Minh City supported Fintech development to become a regional financial center
On May 14, Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology collaborated with the Innovative Startups Center (SIHUB) organized the Fintech conference 2025 to promote digital transformation and develop the financial technology industry, contributing to building Ho Chi Minh City into a regional financial center.

Mr. Le Thanh Minh, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology, delivered the opening speech at the workshop.
In the atmosphere of celebrating Vietnam Science and Technology Day on May 18, 2025, the workshop focused on the opportunities and challenges of digital transformation in the financial industry, with presentations from experts, such as Mr. Nguyen Khac Huy, Mr. Nguyen Ba Diep and Ms. Le Thi Be Ba. Mr. Huy emphasized Resolution No.09/2023 on interest rate support for digital transformation projects, while Mr. Diep shared MoMo's success in expanding financial services through appropriate technology and focusing on customer feedback. Ms. Be Ba affirmed that in addition to financial support, Fintech 2025 also builds a comprehensive ecosystem, accompanying startups from ideas to success, helping the industry develop sustainably.
Experts and managers have affirmed the role of Fintech as a breakthrough in building a modern financial system, in line with Resolution No.57-NQ/TW. Developing Fintech in Ho Chi Minh City will not only help form an international financial center, improve efficiency, transparency and diversify services, but also attract foreign investment and enhance Vietnam's global position. However, to achieve this goal, it is necessary to overcome challenges in terms of law, infrastructure, human resources and risk management.
