Universities play a connecting role in supporting startups
On May 24, at the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH), the talk show “Startup and Investment” was co-organized by the School of Technology and Design (CTD), the Institute of Innovation (UII) and the ISC Incubation Center.

The event is part of a series of academic activities to promote knowledge sharing, connect the business community and experts, and contribute to improving research capacity and sustainable development. Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Quang Hung, Vice President of UEH emphasized the role of startups and investment as a catalyst to promote the innovation ecosystem according to the 4P model: Public, private, community and partners, contributing to the development strategy of a multidisciplinary university, aiming at comprehensive value for society.
During the program, experts emphasized that startup is not simply a personal story but also a journey of converging knowledge, technology and strategic capital. Speaker Thuy Mai, Chairman of RainScales, shared her experiences in operating and expanding international operations of three technology companies in seven countries, emphasizing the importance of building a sustainable business model, an international investor network and a clear legal foundation.
The program also focused on discussing hot topics in the current startup field, such as applying artificial intelligence, automating operational processes to quickly adapt to the global market. In addition, the discussions also mentioned the trend of sustainable investment and integrating ESG criteria into business models to enhance long-term competitive advantages, helping Vietnamese startups to be ready to step into the international market and reach further in the international startup community.
