Plan to train nearly 4,000 workers for two Ninh Thuan nuclear power plants
The Government has approved the Project “Training and fostering human resources for nuclear power development until 2035”, in which by 2030, nearly 4,000 human resources will be trained for Ninh Thuan 1 and 2 nuclear power plants. Specifically, Ninh Thuan 1 needs about 1,920 employees, and Ninh Thuan 2 needs about 1,980 people.

Of these, more than 50% are engineers and bachelors, the rest have college degrees. 670 people will be trained at university and postgraduate levels abroad, especially university graduates who commit to serving the factory in each phase, or first and second year students of domestic schools with clear conditions and commitments. In addition, the project also focuses on training, fostering, and short-term internships in nuclear power plant management and operation skills for about 700 officials, civil servants, public employees, and experts working in ministries or in the nuclear power sector at training and research facilities.
At the same time, about 450 lecturers, researchers, and technicians currently working in relevant universities, research institutes, and colleges will also be updated with new knowledge. In particular, the project proposes a plan to train about 120 lecturers specializing in nuclear power (80 masters and 40 doctors) to meet the training and human resource development needs of the two plants. In the period of 2031-2035, the project aims to continue training and supplementing human resources to meet the actual needs of nuclear power plants. To achieve these goals, the government plans to improve policy mechanisms, increase investment, upgrade facilities, build a team of experts, update training programs, and promote international cooperation. Previously, in the Resolution of the 8th Session of the 15th National Assembly, the Ninh Thuan nuclear power project was approved again after a temporary suspension, and at the February session, many special mechanisms and policies were approved to promote rapid project implementation progress.
