Accordingly, in the first phase, lecturers and students majoring in electricity - electronics and information technology from three schools of Vietnam National University in Ho Chi Minh City including Polytechnic, Natural Science and Information Technology will participate in the training program at the Chip Design Center located in the High-Tech Park of Ho Chi Minh City.
Synopsys - the global company for semiconductor IP and electronic design automation - will provide the design software, training experts, and teaching materials; while SHTP provides information technology infrastructure to operate the chip design center.
Mr. Robert Li, Sales Vice President of Synopsys Taiwan and South Asia, said that the current major challenge of the chip manufacturing industry is the lack of human resources, while Vietnam has this human strength and low cost. The cost is still low compared to other countries in the region, such as Singapore, Malaysia, etc. Synopsys commits to introduce many advanced technologies to Vietnam to help strengthen IC design capacity and shorten product time to market.
