The Directorate of Standards, Metrology and Quality organized surveys at inspection units
On June 8, 2023, the Prime Minister signed and promulgated Decree No. 30/2023/ND-CP on amending and supplementing a number of articles of Decree No. 139/2018/ND-CP dated October 8, 2018 of the Government for regulations on the business of motor vehicle inspection services, which stipulate that the inspection units are responsible for complying with the inspection, testing and calibration of measuring instruments in accordance with the law on measurement.

Accordingly, the Directorate of Standards, Metrology and Quality has coordinated with the Inspection Department of Vietnam (Ministry of Transport) to plan a survey on the use of measuring devices at a number of motor vehicles inpection units according to the provisions of the law on measurement.
According to information from the Vietnam Inspection Department, the system and equipment line for the inpection are equipped at inperction units across the country belonging to 4 different manufacturers: Beissbarth (Germany), Muller (France), Maha (Germany), Ryme (Spain). Accordingly, the Directorate has planned to survey 12 motor vehicle registration units in all 3 regions of the North - Central - South with all 4 equipment manufacturers mentioned above.
On July 5, 2023, the survey team of the Directorate coordinated with the Vietnam Inspection Department to conduct a survey at 03 inspection units in Hanoi city (Inspection Center 29.08D, Inspection Center 29.27D, Inspection Center29.15D) and will continue the survey at the remaining 9 Inspection units across the country in July 2023.
The results of the survey will be the basis for the Directorate to coordinate with the Vietnam Inspection Derpartment to develop a plan and roadmap for the implementation of Decree No. 30/2023/ND- on meeting the requirements set out by the Government.
