Attracting talents and creating motivation to promote fundamental research for sustainable development

Minister Huynh Thanh Dat and Prof. Ngo Bao Chau were at the headquarters of the Institute for Advanced Research in Mathematics.
During the meeting, the Minister Huynh Thanh Dat and Professor Ngo Bao Chau exchanged ideas on policies to attract international talents, especially outstanding young Vietnamese scientists who have been well-trained in developed countries. The Minister expressed the desire to gather more information to adjust policies and create opportunities for Vietnamese scientists to interact and collaborate closely with outstanding international scientists on a regular basis.
Furthermore, during the discussion, the Minister expressed the desire to promote fundamental scientific research for sustainable development by advancing major long-term basic research tasks in specific directions to serve the country's sustainable development; closely integrating science and technology activities with education and training. Additionally, the Minister Huynh Thanh Dat and Professor Ngo Bao Chau also discussed the improvement of mechanisms and models of the National Science and Technology Development Fund towards aligning with international practices and standards to enhance funding and support activities in science, technology, and innovation in the country.
After the discussion, Professor Ngo Bao Chau introduced the Minister to the Institute for Advanced Study in Mathematics as well as the institute's activities.
