In the morning of October 27, 2021, Can Tho City Department of Science and Technology organized an Advisory Council to directly assign organizations and individuals to implement the project "Evaluating the results of laparoscopic surgery to fix the vaginal graft to the protrusion in the treatment of pelvic organ prolapse at the Can Tho City Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital.” The study is carried out by specialist doctor II Nguyen Huu Du. Can Tho City Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital is an implementing agency.

Overview of the meeting
The project is carried out to evaluate the results of the laparoscopic method to fix the vaginal graft in the treatment of pelvic organ prolapse according to the criteria of degree of pelvic organ prolapse recovery, recurrence rate, symptom reduction level, satisfaction and quality of life improvement after treatment; Evaluate the safety of surgical methods according to the following criteria: rate of intraoperative complications, postoperative complications.

The content of the Project will include: Evaluation of the safety of surgical methods according to the criteria of the rate of intraoperative complications and postoperative complications; Evaluation of the results of the laparoscopic method of fixing the vaginal graft to the protrusion in the treatment of pelvic organ prolapse according to the following criteria: degree of pelvic organ prolapse recovery, recurrence rate, symptom reduction, satisfaction and quality of life improvement after treatment.

Research team
The implemented project will provide in-depth information on the field of pelvic organ prolapse treatment in the Mekong Delta, as a premise for local technical implementation in the region.
The Council has unanimously approved the project, but the research team needs to amend and supplement some contents according to the comments of the council members.
