Effects of guava leaf extract (Psidium guajava) on immune physiology, antioxidant capacity, growth and meat quality of field eel (Monopterus albus)
To select organizations and individuals to preside the city-level science and technology task "Effects of guava leaf extract (Psidium guajava) on immune physiology, antioxidant capacity, growth and meat quality of field eel (Monopterus albus)”, Cantho City Department of Science and Technology had a council meeting in the morning of March 13, 2024. The Council was presdied by Mr. Tran Dong Phuong An, Deputy Director of Cantho City Department of Science and Technology. The study is carried by Dr. Nguyen Thi Kim Ha. School of Fisheries - Can Tho University is an implementing unit.

Overview of the meeting
The project aims to determine the dosage and frequency of adding guava leaf extract to food to help eels increase resistance and fight against oxidative stress; Fast growth, reducing FCR coefficient, increasing survival rate and creating clean eel products contribute to sustainable farming development.

Council's members
The research content of the project includes: Effects of dosage and frequency (rhythm) of adding guava leaf extract to food on physiological indicators, immunity, oxidative stress and digestive enzymes of field eels; Evaluate growth, survival rate and FCR coefficient of field eels when fed food supplemented with guava leaf extract with different frequencies; Evaluating the shock tolerance (stress tolerance) of field eels to some environmental factors after adding guava leaf extract to the food.

Research team
The Council commented on some contents for the research team to edit and complete the explanation.
