Preserving and developing performances of traditional musical instruments and amateur music associated with tourism development in Can Tho city
In order to select organizations and individuals to carry out the social science project "Preserving and developing performances of traditional musical instruments and amateur folk music associated with tourism development in Can Tho city", Can Tho City Department of Science and Technology had a council meeting in the afternoon of March 26, 2024. The Council was preside by Dr. Ngo Anh Tin - Director of the Can Tho City Department of Science and Technology. The study will be implemented by Dr. Tang Tan Loc. Tay Do University is an implementation unit.

Overview of the meeting
The project aims to evaluate the current status of the issue of preserving traditional musical instrument performances, amateur folk music, and the potential of integrating these activities into tourism development in Can Tho city to bring efficiency for attracting tourists, contributing to the promotion and socio-economic development of the city.

The content of the project includes: Assessing the current status and potential of traditional musical instrument performances, amateur folk music associated with tourism development in Can Tho city; Build, operate and evaluate 02 performance models of traditional musical instruments, amateur music combined with some types of modern performances associated with tourism development in Can Tho city; Proposing solutions and recommending policy mechanisms to develop models of performing traditional musical instruments and traditional music to attract tourists in Can Tho city; and etc.
