Hanoi Department of Science and Technology responded to World Intellectual Property Day 2024
“Towards the 4th Industrial Revolution, the young generation is facing many challenges to keep up with the general development trend of the world. In that context, innovation is an important driving force to help us shorten the development gap and promote socio-economic development." This is the comment of Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Science and Technology (S&T) Nguyen Quoc Ha at the event responding to World Intellectual Property Day April 26, 2024 organized by Hanoi Department of Science and Technology in coordination with the National of Office of Intellectual Property Vietnam (Ministry of Science and Technology) and University of Transport.
The event is a series of activities in response to World Intellectual Property Day on April 26 to bring intellectual property closer to the capital's public, promote and raise awareness of the role of intellectual property rights in encouraging innovation, enhancing the competitiveness and reputation of products created from innovation.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Science and Technology Nguyen Quoc Ha said that in 2023, Hanoi was the locality with the local Innovation Index (PII) leading the country, with the highest score of 3/ 7 pillars, 14/52 component indexes. To achieve this result, we must mention important contributions from research institutes and universities in the capital, especially the dynamism and creativity of students in scientific research, innovation, innovative start-up. He hopes that through this event, students will gain more useful knowledge about intellectual property, thereby supporting their learning and working process.
At the event, Deputy Director of the Department of Intellectual Property Le Huy Anh acknowledged the continuous efforts of the Hanoi Department of Science and Technology in intellectual property management and intellectual property development in the city in last time. He hopes that these achievements will be continued and promoted in the socio-economic development of Hanoi City in the coming time. At the same time, the National Office of Intellectual Property of Vietnam commits to continue to coordinate, share and accompany the Hanoi Department of Science and Technology.

Within the framework of the event, the workshop "Intellectual property and sustainable development goals - Innovation in the field of transportation" also took place. The workshop had the presence of 4 speakers from central and local management agencies, universities and businesses participating in sharing experiences, as well as advising scientists and students of various techniques continuously related to patent registration and protection of their creative achievements.
