Sports exchange activities celebrate Vietnam Science and Technology Day May 18

To celebrate the 134th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam Science and Technology Day May 18 and the 65th anniversary of the establishment of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Grassroots Trade Union of Can Tho City Department of Science and Technology organized a sports exchange among the grassroots Trade Union of Can Tho City Department of Science and Technology and the grassroots Trade Unions of units in the city, in the morning of May 11, 2024, at Can Tho City Sports Center stadium (No. 03 Le Loi, Cai Khe Ward, Ninh Kieu District, Can Tho City).

Trần Như Tiến, Phó Giám đốc Bệnh viện Đa khoa Hòa Hảo - Medic Cần Thơ, ông Huỳnh Tấn Minh - Phó Giám đốc Công ty Cổ phần Dầu khí Mê Kông, ông Dương Tuấn Long - Giám đốc Công ty Cổ phần Đầu tư Thương mại Dương Trí, 12 đơn vị tham dự với 300 vận động viên và người hâm mộ tham gia giao lưu, cổ vũ.

Hoạt động giao lưu thể thao diễn ra với 2 nội dung gồm: Bóng đá mini nam và bóng chuyền nữ.

Opening speech, Mr. Truong Hoang Phuong - Deputy Director of Can Tho City Department of Science and Technology recognizes the significance of organizing exchanges to widely propagate to young generations of union members the passion for science and the spirit of solidarity. This is also an opportunity to unite scientists after hard working hours on research projects that contribute to the development of the city in particular and the country in general. We hope that the coordination between units will be further promoted in the future.

The sports exchange took place successfully with the enthusiastic participation of the competing teams. They are people who not only always strive to successfully complete assigned tasks, but also constantly practice physically to stay healthy and unite in work coordination as well as in training and sports competitions. In particular, the enthusiastic cheers from the fans and the large participation of the athletes at the stadium showed that this is a collective sports event that is loved and expected by many trade union members.

After an effortful competition, the results for women's volleyball, the first prize belonged to Can Tho City Department of Science and Technology, second prize belongs to the Political School unit, third prize belonged to the Department of Construction unit. In men's mini soccer, the first prize belonged to Can Tho City People's Committee Office unit, second prize belonged to Can Tho City Department of Science and Technology, third prize belonged to Can Tho Bus Station and Ferry Joint Stock Company.

Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong - Deputy Chief of Office of the Ministry of Science and Technology and Mr. Ngo Anh Tin - Member of the Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, Director of Can Tho City Department of Science and Technology awarded the first prize in mini soccer to Can Tho City People's Committee office.

Mr. Truong Hoang Phuong - Deputy Director of Can Tho City Department of Science and Technology awarded second prize in mini soccer to Can Tho City Department of Science and Technology team

Mr. Tran Ba Quang - Chairman of the Trade Union of Can Tho City Department of Science and Technology awarded third prize to Can Tho Ferry Terminal Company team

The exchange session is an opportunity for trade union members to meet and exchange to enhance the spirit of solidarity, attachment, physical training, and at the same time create a healthy and fun playground, contributing to the excellent completion of assigned tasks.
