Can Tho: Celebrate Vietnam Science and Technology Day May 18 and celebrate the 65th anniversary of the establishment of the Ministry of Science and Technology

Vietnam Science and Technology Day May 18 is a festival to honor scientists and science and technology staffs, introduce the results of scientific research and technological development, and promote the application of science and technology into production. This is also an opportunity to raise awareness and arouse pride in Vietnamese intelligence and the spirit of passion for creative labor among people, especially the young generation of Vietnam in the cause of construction and development of the country.

Can Tho City Department of Science and Technology organized many activities to praise and honor the team of science and technology staffs; Propagate and widely disseminate scientific and technological achievements for the country's development, raise society's awareness of the role of science and technology, especially scientific researchers, contributing to the development of the cause of science and technology in the future.

Celebration activities of this year's Vietnam Science and Technology Day are organized economically and practically. Accordingly, Can Tho City Department of Science and Technology organized information, propaganda, and dissemination of knowledge about science and technology, innovation, and achievements of science and technology to serve socio-economic development through posting news, articles, etc. on the electronic information portal. Department's website, science and technology information pages of the unit, Can Tho newspaper and hanging banners and slogans with the theme "Warmly welcome Vietnam Science and Technology Day May 18 and the 65th anniversary year of establishment of the Ministry of Science and Technology", at the Headquarters of the Department of Science and Technology, units under the Department; Key routes in Can Tho city.

Besides, Can Tho City Department of Science and Technology also organized sports exchange activities among cadres, civil servants and public employees of departments and branches in the city. Attending the sports exchange, there were Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong - Deputy Chief of Office of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Mr. Ngo Anh Tin - Member of the Party Committee, Director of Can Tho City Department of Science and Technology, Mr. Truong Hoang Phuong - Deputy Director of Can Tho City Department of Science and Technology, Mr. Tran Ba Quang - Chairman of the Trade Union of Can Tho City Department of Science and Technology, representatives of 12 participating units with 300 athletes and fans participating in exchanges and cheering.

The sports exchange took place successfully with the enthusiastic participation of the competing teams. In particular, the enthusiastic cheers from the fans and the large participation of the athletes at the stadium showed that this is a collective sports event that is loved and expected by many trade union members.
