Diagnostic and prognostic value of cardiovascular events of microRNA-423-5p in heart failure patients in Can Tho city
In the morning of March 7, 2025, the Can Tho City Department of Science and Technology organized a selection council for organizations and individuals to preside over city-level science and technology tasks with the project "Diagnostic and prognostic value of cardiovascular events of microRNA-423-5p in patients with heart failure in Can Tho City". MSc. Tran Hoai Phuong, Deputy Director of the Department, was the Chairman of the council, MSc. Dr. Huynh Le Trong Tuong was the project manager, chaired by Can Tho Central General Hospital.

Overview of the meeting
The study aimed to investigate the concentration of microRNA-423-5p in the serum of heart failure patients, determine its diagnostic value and evaluate the ability to predict major cardiovascular events in this group of patients.
The objective of the project is to study the role of microRNA-423-5p as a new biomarker in the diagnosis and prognosis of heart failure, contributing to reducing the medical and economic burden caused by this disease globally. MicroRNAs are increasingly proven to play an important role in regulating processes related to cardiovascular disease, in which microRNA-423-5p is expected to provide useful information for early detection and prediction of disease progression.
After the presentation of the steering committee, the council gave comments to improve the content of the presentation, making the project clearer, more coherent and increasing feasibility during implementation. The comments focused on adjusting the research method, analyzing the results and expanding the applicability of microRNA-423-5p in diagnosing and predicting cardiovascular events, aiming to improve the quality of medical examination and treatment in the locality.
