Research on utilizing Cordyceps militaris by-products to produce value-added products
In the morning of March 5, 2025, the Department of Science and Technology of Can Tho City held a council to select organizations and individuals to preside over the Science and Technology Project "Research on utilizing Cordyceps militaris by-products to produce value-added products."

Overview of the meeting
MSc. Tran Hoai Phuong - Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Can Tho City was the Chairman of the council. Associate Professor. The study will be carried out bay Dr. Huynh Xuan Phong. Nguyen Tat Thanh University is in charge of implementation.
Based on the project description of the Steering Committee, the Council carefully reviewed and made some suggestions to improve the clarity, relevance and completeness of the project content. The comments focused on perfecting the sections describing the objectives, methods and implementation steps.
The project focuses on the research and application of Cordyceps in traditional medicine, combining scientific advances to develop new products, such as kombucha from Cordyceps, bio-cellulose, and synbiotic powder. The main contents include analysis of the microflora of SCOBY, production of kombucha, bio-cellulose, synbiotic powder from Cordyceps by-products, as well as quality assessment and standard development for these products.
After receiving comments from the Council, the research team will complete the draft project description to ensure clarity, completeness and consistency with the research objectives, contributing to promoting the application of biotechnology in developing products from Cordyceps militaris, both increasing economic value and protecting the environment.
