Son La trademark is granted a certificate of trademark registration
Recently, the People's Committee of Son La province held a ceremony to announce the decision to grant the certificate of trademark registration "Son La" and cut the ribbon to depart the batch of Song Ma - Son La longan exported to the EU and UK markets in 2021.

Longan is one of the main crops grown on sloping land of Son La province, bringing economic benefits to the people. In recent years, Son La longan products have been favored and appreciated by consumers for their quality and design.

In 2021, the province's longan area will be about 19,224 hectares, of which, concentrated in districts, such as Song Ma, Mai Son, Yen Chau, Muong La. with an estimated output of 98,500 tons, of which, 2,200 hectares of longan with output of nearly 22,000 tons is eligible for export to the markets of China, Australia, America, Europe and etc.

Song Ma district alone has over 7,200 hectares of longan, of which nearly 5,900 hectares have been harvested, yielding over 55,800 tons, accounting for more than 55% of the province's total longan output.

Therefore, the protection of certification trademarks for fresh longan and longan products is expected to be an effective tool to develop brands, improve position and reputation, thereby developing specialized farming areas, processing and trading longan products in the area of Son La province.

Recently, the ceremony to announce the decision to grant the Certificate of trademark registration "Son La trademark" was held. On this occasion, Son La province also cut the ribbon for the departure of Song Ma - Son La Longan batch to be exported to the EU and UK markets in 2021.

Chairman of Son La Provincial People's Committee Hoang Quoc Khanh wishes to continue receiving the attention of ministries, central agencies and businesses to bring the province's agricultural products to export to international markets.

The province's cooperatives will focus on production and maintenance of protected trademarks, enhance processing to improve the quality of products. At the same time, focus on advertising, trade promotion, economic restructuring, effectively exploiting the potential and advantages of the province. To step up the application of science and technology in production, socio-economic development, and improve people's income and living standards.

On this occasion, the Department of Science and Technology of Son La province also awarded certificates of right to use trademarks to 25 cooperatives of Song Ma district; representatives of enterprises and cooperatives signed a memorandum of understanding on production and consumption of longan.

It can be said that the registration of the certification trademark "Son La" is also an affirmation of the reputation and quality of agricultural products of Son La province, contributing to the completion of the legal framework, creating a foundation for the supply of agricultural products from the province's longan to the domestic and international markets.

Currently, Son La's longan has started in the harvest season, but due to the complicated developments of the Covid-19 epidemic, it has affected the export and consumption of longan. However, the province has connected with large export enterprises, such as Fusa Organic Agriculture Joint Stock Company, Dong Giao Food Export Joint Stock Company to select quality products for export, in order to increase the value of Son La longan products.
