This year, the Vingroup AI Engineer Training Program enrolls students from April to June to find 60 candidates. Not only free training, trainees also receive a competitive salary compared to the market.
Eligible candidates include final year students, graduate program students, young engineers with no more than 3 years of working experience in the fields of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science. Required fields of study are Information Technology, Electronics and Telecommunications, Mathematics, Computer Science or other related technical majors, such as Automation, Manufacturing, Computational Biomedicine.
In addition, candidates need to meet a minimum of 3.0 GPA and English TOEIC score of 600 or equivalent. Candidates will go through three rounds of selection including: screening applications; professional assessment with background knowledge in Mathematics (Calculus, Linear Algebra, Statistical Probability), Machine Learning, English, Programming; and finally an interview with a panel of experts.
The training roadmap consists of two phases, in which the foundation phase lasts 4 months, taught by a team of Vingroup technology experts. In addition, students are also trained to supplement soft skills to be able to run technology projects in the future.
During the next 6-month internship period, students have the opportunity to participate in big technology projects of Vingroup (such as Comprehensive Voice Assistant for Vietnamese, Self-Driving Car Technology, Smart Ecosystem, etc.) supporting medical imaging,...) and owns scientific publications in the fields of Biomedical Informatics, Medical Image Processing and Natural Language Processing.
The Vingroup AI Engineer Training Program began to be implemented in August 2020, in order to contribute to building a high-tech human resource for the country.
"This is one of the few AI training programs that is well-invested, well-designed, equipped with modern facilities and technology infrastructure, which is rare in the country," the press release quoted Prof. Vu Ha Van (Scientific Director of VinBigData - the unit implementing the Vingroup AI engineer training program).
He also said that, after two years, the program has attracted more than 1,000 domestic and foreign applications, received and trained 180 students, of which more than one-third own achievements and national and international titles. “We have trained a team of engineers who have strong foundational knowledge and skills in solving applied problems to directly participate in technology projects that compete fairly with the world,” Prof. Van said.
