The Ministry of Information and Communications and the Committee for Ethnic Minorities cooperate in communication and digital transformation
In order to promote the effectiveness of information and communication in ethnic minority areas, contributing to the effective implementation of the National Target Program for socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas, on May 24, at Hanoi, the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) and the Committee for Ethnic Minorities (UBEM) have signed a coordination program on ethnic affairs in ethnic minority and mountainous areas in the field of information and communications for the period of 2024-2030.

Deputy Minister, Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Ethnic Minorities Nong Thi Ha and Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Thanh Lam signed the coordination program between the Committee for Ethnic Minorities and the Ministry of Information and Communications for the period of 2024-2030.

Deputy Minister, Deputy Chairwoman of the Committee for Ethnic Minorities Nong Thi Ha and Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Thanh Lam presided the signing ceremony. Attending the signing ceremony, there were leaders of a number of relevant departments and units.

The coordination program stipulates the purpose, principles, scope, and content of coordination between the Ministry of Information and Communications and the Committee for Ethnic Minorities in ethnic affairs in ethnic minority and mountainous areas under the state management of the Ministry of Information and Communications. Ensuring the promotion of the roles and responsibilities of each agency, promoting cooperation and information exchange to achieve effective ethnic work in ethnic minority and mountainous areas in the field of information and communication.

The content of the Coordination Program is primarily on propaganda and foreign information work. The two sides coordinated and directed central and local news and press agencies to communicate on ethnic affairs and ethnic policies; achievements in ensuring the rights of ethnic minority people in mass media, basic information systems and new media.

Coordinate the implementation of Decision No. 752/QD-TTg dated June 23, 2023 of the Prime Minister on approving the ordering of a number of newspaper and magazine publications for ethnic minority and mountainous areas and especially difficult areas for the period of 2023-2025. Coordinate to effectively implement Resolution No. 47/NQ-CP dated April 15, 2024 of the Government on the Government's Action Program to 2030 to implement Conclusion No. 57-KL/TW dated April 15 6/2023 of the Politburo on continuing to improve the quality and effectiveness of foreign information work in the new situation; Build communication data and foreign information about 53 ethnic minorities; Vietnam's efforts and achievements in ensuring the rights of ethnic minorities, and etc.
