Intellectual Property: A tool for economic development and cultural protection in the digital age
The Party and State of Vietnam have identified three strategic pillars including science and technology, innovation and digital transformation to develop the country sustainably, towards the goal of becoming a high-income country by 2045.

Delegates visited the exhibition area "Science, Technology, Innovation Products" within the framework of the ceremony responding to World Intellectual Property Day 2025 organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Hanoi People's Committee.
In particular, intellectual property plays a key role as a foundation to promote innovation, protect cultural values and create competitive advantages.
The Ministry of Science and Technology is promoting policy improvement, mechanism reform, improving knowledge of intellectual property in society and international cooperation to promote the commercialization of intellectual property and the flow of innovation, contributing to the development of a knowledge-based and innovation-based economy.
In the music sector, intellectual property also plays a role in protecting creative products that express cultural identity, but it faces challenges from the digital environment and artificial intelligence. Works can be illegally copied immediately after release, causing damage to artists. Building a suitable legal framework will help protect the rights and income of creators, while promoting the sustainable development of the music industry based on creativity and new technology.
In the overall development strategy, intellectual property is not only a legal tool but also a source of inspiration to promote creativity and develop cultural and scientific values. An effective intellectual property ecosystem will create a favorable environment for artists, inventors and entrepreneurs to maximize their potential, contribute to the country's long-term prosperity and maintain Vietnamese identity in the international arena.
