Some outstanding results of digital technology application in the field of irrigation and disaster prevention
Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Phung Duc Tien emphasized that the current water resource issue is no longer a temporary challenge but has become a fundamental factor determining food security, irrigation planning and the country's climate change response strategy.

Minister of Agriculture and Environment Do Duc Duy visited the stores of the Vietnam Institute of Water Resources at the Conference on implementing the "Plan to implement Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthrough development of national STID" in the fields of agriculture and environment.
Using science and technology, artificial intelligence and digital forecasting models is the key to helping the irrigation sector improve its forecasting, warning and management capabilities more effectively in the context of climate change.
He said that the water sector needs to identify research and technology application as a key area, contributing to solving the most difficult tasks and promoting sustainable development. If the problem of water resources cannot be solved, economic, social and environmental development strategies will face many difficulties, directly affecting national efficiency and security.
Therefore, to ensure better water resources for production, daily life and national security, it is necessary to promote research, technological innovation, and at the same time build a modern big data system. This helps improve the capacity for forecasting, warning and making accurate decisions in natural disaster prevention, sustainable development and adaptation to climate change.
